Today, after the winter break, the yellow wheels in public use in the city of Helsinki, christened Alepa, arrived again to brighten up the street scene.
City bikes are one of the public transport options offered by HSL. They are a very convenient way to get around, especially in the center of Helsinki. There are plenty of bike parks around the city. From HSL’s website or application, you can conveniently check the nearest bike park to your own location. The wheels are equipped with a basket that can be put in a bag and have a light ride.
Using a city bike is easy and inexpensive. The whole season, which runs from the beginning of April until the end of October, costs only 35 euros. At the seasonal price, you can ride bikes indefinitely from early spring until far into autumn. Access to the city bike can also be purchased for one day for five euros and for a week for ten.
The cycling area covers Helsinki and Espoo, Vantaa has its own city bike system. There are a total of 350 bicycle parks and up to 3,500 available bicycles. The city bike is easily accessible by registering on the HSL website.
