The Luna Unlimited Gallery in Helsinki’s Punavuori serves as a stage for the works of lesser-known but definitely interesting artists. In the background of the gallery is a talented group of people working closely in both art and culture.
Art exhibitions and events are run by Luna Society ry, which was established after Loba “Limitless” – event organized in connection with Tallinn Music Week 2020
Telliskivi’s bohemian vibe and the easily approachable “Limitless” art event proved to be an unbeatable combination. The concept received a delightfully warm welcome and brought together people whose collective goal is to bring art to everyone’s reach and in an easily approachable form through a variety of events.
The Luna Unlimited Gallery hosts private displays during the corona restrictions.
The gallery, which opened in the fall of 2020, has already hosted several exhibitions, although the timing couldn’t be much more challenging due to the corona. It is reported from the Luna Society that gallery and activities held around it have been an important source of a sense of community for many artists during the pandemic.
In addition to the gallery, Luna Society also has a radio program at IDA Radio, which promotes alternative music and culture and operates in Helsinki and Tallinn.
Luna Society’s goal is to support the networking of Finnish art and cultural creators also internationally. There are plans to expand exhibition and event activities beyond the borders of Finland.
Currently,Aleksandra Malletin exhibition “My Home Is Not Here” is on display at Luna Unlimited Gallery (March 5 – March 30, 2021). The exhibition deals with the impact of the corona period on mental health and, in particular, the increase in domestic violence caused by exceptional circumstances.
